In Cheltenham’s second Pre-Season fixture of the 2017-18 campaign Gary Johnson’s side make the short trip to Kayte Lane, home of Bishops Cleeve FC.
Bishops Cleeve play there football in the Southern League Division 1 South and West and are managed by local man Stephen Cleal.
The Mitres finished 16th out of 22 last season and are preparing for another tough season.
Cheltenham often travel to Kayte Lane for pre season drawing a big crowd to Cleeve’s 1500 capacity ground (50 seats.)
Many Ex Cheltenham players have gone on to feature in the Bishops Cleeve squad, such as former striker Julian Alsop who was re-signed by Cheltenham after featuring for Cleeve in 2009.
Bishops Cleeve began their Pre-season on Tuesday night, where they took on Cheltenhams football league neighbours Forest Green Rovers. Rovers won the fixture 0-2.
Both Cheltenham and Bishops Cleeve have played one and lost one so far this pre-season, so both managers and sets of players will be looking to put in a good performance this Friday night.
The home side has advertised the fixture as “a chance to see the new signings up close.” As they face off against the Robbins with an energised squad after the summer break.
Kick off at Kayte Lane is at 19.30, with adults tickets costing £5 and under 16’s getting in for free.
