Tonight Cheltenham Town travel to Marsh Lane, home of Oxford City FC for what will be The Robbins first Pre-Season fixture of the 2017-18 campaign.

The first record of an Oxford City match according to the club website was on March 15th 1884 and they  currently play their football in The National League South (6th tier of English Football.)

Nicknamed ‘The City’ the community club is managed by Mark Jones, who helped the side to a 14th place finish last season.

City have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window. They hit headlines in June 2017 when the unusual story emerged that the club had announced signing Matt Paterson in a local McDonald’s restaurant.

Jones latest additions to the club were 3 familiar faces who could all feature against Cheltenham tonight. Zac Mceachran, Horatio Hirst and Mo Fofana have all re-signed after previous spells with the club.

City’s Pre season began on saturday, where they suffered a 3-0 defeat to League One Oxford United. The players will be looking to bounce back  with a fine performance against Gary Johnson’s side tonight.

Kick off at Marsh Lane is 19:45 with a reduced price for away fans of £10 for adults and £5 for concessions and Under 16s.
